We created SHIELD to better govern our development and growth.
No private team is bigger than it's community.
SHIELD is a decentralized platform for democratic voting on community posted proposals, elections, issues and polls.
Technically, it's a permanent public record of important information or content and decisions voted on by a community or any type of organization. It was initially made for Decentralized Atonomous Organizations but it works for hierarchy based organizations just as well.
It represents protection through the wisdom of the crowds, the more shield members, the better decisions can be taken for any mission, any cause, and overall for any important project or initiative.
To understand why SHIELD is powerful, I recommend one of my favorite books of all time: The wisdom of crowds by James Surowiecki. SHIELD is an idea inspired by the book.
It serves as a powerful open source NPPoS (Non-Profit Proof of Stake) vetting and voting tool.
It's currently being developed as web-based software.
SHIELD is currently powered by the Gratitude Token (GRAT) and it has 2 main purposes:
Democratic Decision Making - Instead of placing all the pressure and responsibility of decision making on a few people, usually the tip of a hierarchy - all important decisions are put up for a vote. For private teams and organizations, there are 2 types of memberships. Guardian members can vote and Visionary members have the extra ability to post any proposal, issue or poll that expires after some time. In this way, the best decision is taken and everyone is responsible for the future of a project, a community, an organization or a company.
NPPoS - Non-Profit Proof of Stake. By owning the required GRAT tokens amount in your account to be able to interact with SHIELD, you are helping diminish some of the GRAT supply from exchanges, helping the price of our token GRAT appreciate and you are participating in the governing of a project, a community, an organisation or a company.
We can also provide staking smart contracts for businesses or organizations.
The staking smart contract is a 0% APR membership type. By staking the required GRAT tokens amount to become a member for a custom period, members diminish some of the GRAT supply from exchanges, helping the price of our token GRAT appreciate and they are participating in the governing of their own project, a community, an organisation or a company. At the end of the membership period the tokens are returned to your wallet automatically.
gratitudetoken.world is protected by SHIELD, a powerful open source democracy which is based on Truth and Value.
We are demonstrating its utility for the first time on the gratitudetoken.world website where it serves as a public platform motivating humans to hold GRAT tokens in order to become members and get involved in the development of all gratitudetoken.world projects, including GENESIS projects.
SHIELD members collectively act as a Non-Profit PoS (Proof of Stake) committee and although all issues and proposals are public only members can raise issues or post proposals and vote on them, depending on the type of membership.
SHIELD offers Leaderless Collective Protection and crowd-intelligent decision-making mechanisms. It's simply a great tool for nurturing progress that could never be accomplished through private-centralized teams or companies which are most of the time executing their roles with low capacity or interest. They do it for the money or power/control, not for the mission.
Anyone can fork the open source code and develop the tool further for their own mission, with the condition to create something that keeps the same license (GPL 3.0) and mentions the source.
